Overview

We're looking for a commercial controllership analys for our APAC business. This is an exciting opportunity to help us establish our commercial controllership capabilities.

The Commercial controllership analyst - APAC is reporting to the Regional Finance Controller and supports the commercial teams through advising, training and establishing sound processes around commercial accounting, focusing mainly on revenue recognition (US GAAP – ASC 606).

Responsibilities

  • Revenue recognition, including guidance to markets on accounting implications, training the local finance and commercial teams on revenue recognition principles and Waters policies, whilst being the subject matter expert and point of contact for the wider Waters APAC business.
  • Supporting the operations, finance and commercial teams in ensuring a sound order to cash process is followed across APAC. This includes driving improvement initiatives around system, process, reporting and forecasting.
  • Commercial contracting support to Waters APAC business. This includes supporting and advising the commercial teams on the accounting and economic implications of contract terms.
  • Technical accounting on other commercial arrangements like leasing and factoring arrangements.
  • Support on all commercial controllership topics across Waters APAC finance, operation and commercial teams.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting / Finance or professional qualification
  • Minimum 4-8 years’ relevant experience in REGIONAL Finance & Accounting roles, preferably in US MNC
  • Strong working knowledge of general accounting and especially ASC 606 / IFRS 15 and/or revenue assurance.
  • Experience with US GAAP considered a plus.
  • System savvy and ability to embrace technology as an enabler.
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills, at all levels
  • High level of motivation and ability to zoom out and think of questions in a holistic manner.
  • Familiarity with MNC matrix reporting structure is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English language with any other Asian language will be considered a plus.
