Overview

The Senior / Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible to oversee and manage the Waters’s suppliers’ Quality Assurance with the intent to deliver high quality products and / or services to Waters, Waters’ Contract Manufacturers and Outsourced Service Providers.

Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain long term win-win relationships with Asia / Greater China suppliers to ensure understanding and fulfilment of Waters’ quality and operations’ Quality Scorecard indicators
  • Coordinate and manage supplier relationship alongside sister plants, contract manufacturers (CM) and / or outsourced service providers (OSP)
  • Ensure the effectiveness of Asia / Greater China suppliers escalation activities to minimize risk to Waters business and operations
  • Collaborate with the supplier in failure analysis, root cause analysis and corrective action plans
  • Support Operations, Supply Chain and contract manufacturers to resolve supplier technical issues and implement SCAR action effectively
  • Act as Waters QA approval for CMs’ First Article Inspection buy off and Part Acceptance activities
  • Regularly communicate with Operations and Supply Chain to identify improvement opportunities / projects for COPQ, Quality and Productivity
  • Plan, manage and execute an effective Asia / Greater China supplier audits program and supplier process / product change notification (PCN) program
  • Participate in internal / external quality audit activities

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree preferably in mechanical, electro-mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Supplier Quality / Quality Engineering capacity in a manufacturing or CM environment; senior position will be considered for person with more than 6 years relevant experience
  • Working knowledge in ISO 9001 and / or ISO 13485
  • QMS Auditor / Lead Auditor experience
  • Proven experience in efficient supplier quality management
  • Proven experience in managing supplier quality escalation, containment and counter measures
