Overview

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Metrology Engineer to join our team within Waters, a global leader within the Scientific and Medical Industry.

 

In this role you will be required to provide best practice metrology support to key departments within the business covering Research, Design, NPI, Operations, Product Assurance and Quality departments for MS production. A key function of the role will be the initial production set up and verification of parts & assemblies using cGMP methodology.

 

As well as demonstrating technical excellence, you will be an accomplished, innovative, dedicated, enthusiastic individual that pursues challenges head on and is able to work effectively both independently and with other members of the team.

Responsibilities

Role Specific

  • Creation, maintenance & control of programs for CNC controlled metrology equipment
  • Verification of both single components and sub-assemblies to manufacturing documentation
  • Understand technical design and process requirements, providing appropriate metrology input
  • Conduct and manage MSA, Gauge R&R activities to verify and ensure equipment and program compliance
  • Assist in the design of jigs and fixtures to aid measurement of complex parts and assemblies
  • Conduct and manage calibration and service of site metrology equipment in line with the Company Calibration Policy
  • Assist in identifying quality issues in relation to technical specifications, supplier sampling inspection plan and process validation
  • Ensure ‘Best Practice’ is adopted in the selection of inspection technique, equipment and acceptance criteria
  • Encourage the use of statistical analysis when solving engineering problems

Individual

  • Maintain the effectiveness of the Quality and Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) system at the sites via adherence to applicable policies and procedures
  • Complete Quality and Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) System related actions in a timely manner according to procedures e.g. CAPA, NCR
  • Adhere to Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE)policies and procedures.Please give concise bullet points on job responsibility.

Qualifications

Education:

Educated to HNC/HND or Degree Level in an Engineering discipline, or significant relevant Quality Engineering/Metrology related experience in a Research & Development or Manufacturing environment.

 

Experience:

  • Experience of using Hexagon Metrology - PC.DMIS software. (desired)
  • Experience of using Mitutoyo QV Pak software. (desired)
  • Mitutoyo MCOSMOS software. (desired)
  • OGP Zone 3 software. (desired)
  • Talysurf software. (desired)

 

Competencies:

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of GD&T
  • Proven knowledge of conducting Gauge R&R / MSA activities to verify & ensure equipment & software program compliance.
  • Proven knowledge of ISO 9001, with experience in ISO 13485 and 21 CFR part 820 (desired)
