Overview

The Biologics Business Unit (Bio BU) Commercial Sales Organization comprises highly skilled, motivated, and customer-focused professionals who are technical experts on the Wyatt Technology, HPLC product, and Mass Spectrometry product suites. Their focus spans nanoparticle and macromolecule applications across the biopharmaceutical and life sciences industries.

 

The Biologic Business Unit Sales Applications Chemist II is a technical expert for all Bio BU product lines, focusing on Wyatt Technology and LC-MS-TOF, and a key Bio Business Unit sales team member. The individual will help expand Waters Mass Spectrometry and Wyatt Technology products and brands while supporting the sales teams with quotation preparation, field demos of the software and hardware, customer sample evaluations in our demo lab, and technical presentations. This role ensures a team of Account Managers is successful and focused on selling the Waters LC, Mass Spec, and Wyatt Technology product lines. This role ensures customers receive exceptional sales experience using advanced knowledge in scientific instrumentation and software. This is a hybrid position that requires you to work out of the office and lab when not travelling within Korea. Up to 30% travel is expected, with some overnight or international travel as needed.

 

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed annual sales targets
  • Submit accurate and timely monthly reports
  • Keep current on vertical market dynamics, application trends, and competitive information
  • Support sales team for system configuration definition
  • Proactively ensure assigned accounts/territories develop new sales opportunities by collaborating with the local sales team through the provision of on-site seminars, technical consulting, application feasibility tests, and demonstrations.
  • Set up and run live product demonstrations for HPLC, MS, MALS, DLS and ELS and provide data analysis support
  • Master technical application support during the sales process, including pre-sales positioning and product introduction and support of existing customers on an ongoing basis with high-level product training and application support technical partnership, which leads to repeat sales
  • Help mentor sales account managers through joint onsite activities.
  • Build and present technical seminars about key applications at industry seminars, conferences, and symposiums.
  • Identify and develop application solutions that provide high value to the biopharmaceutical and gene therapy markets.
  • Advise the transfer of knowledge and data from application feasibility studies, industrial and academic applications and technical journals and publications to product management for development.
  • Maintain and continue to develop an outstanding knowledge of our products, their applications, and our competitors’ offerings.
  • Supervise competitive activity and industry trends and develop competitive solutions to meet sales goals.

Qualifications

  • Degree PhD in scientific areas such as chemistry, analytical chemistry, pharmacy, biochemistry or a related field of science
  • Minimum 3 years of experience utilizing Mass Spectrometry systems. Additional experience with UPLC, HPLC, field sales and/or marketing is a plus.
  • Previous sales experience, preferably selling mass spectrometry or similar scientific instrumentation/systems, strongly preferred.
