Overview

The Communication Business Partner leads Waters Division Communications, acting as a strategic advisor and implementer. This role bridges corporate communication initiatives with the specific needs of the business line, ensuring alignment, consistency, and effectiveness in messaging. The ideal candidate excels in simplifying complex information and is a strong writer and visual storyteller.

 

Additionally, this role will partner closely with the external communications team to build affinity and awareness for Waters across key stakeholder groups in the United Kingdom. This role reports into the VP, Corporate Communications and is based in Wilmslow, United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

Strategic Communication Development:

  • Collaborate with leaders and teams to develop and execute tailored communication strategies.
  • Draft, edit, and manage various communication materials (press releases, town hall content, executive emails, internal announcements).

Internal Communication:

  • Cascade corporate programs and updates effectively within the business line, demonstrating measurable impact.
  • Develop strategies to keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with organizational goals.

External Communication:

  • Work with product teams and external communications to craft compelling press releases and product announcements.
  • Drive affinity and awareness for the company in the local market, enhancing the companies reputation as a employer of choice and leader in life sciences.
  • Act as a liaison between external stakeholders and the organization.

Feedback and Sentiment Analysis:

  • Partner with HR to analyze and leverage employee feedback and sentiment.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to leadership based on feedback data.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Ensure alignment between corporate priorities and localized execution.
  • Collaborate with HR, marketing, and other departments to maintain a unified voice and brand presence.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Internal Communication Effectiveness: Employee engagement scores, timeliness, and consistency of message dissemination.
  • External Communication Impact: Media coverage, positive sentiment in stakeholder interactions.
  • Leadership Support: Quality and alignment of communication support, leaders’ satisfaction.
  • Alignment and Consistency: Demonstrated alignment between corporate messages and localized execution.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field. A degree in biology or chemistry is a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in a communications role with dual internal and external responsibilities.
  • Public company experience and M&A experience.
  • Proven experience partnering with senior leaders to deliver impactful communication strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of media relations, employee engagement strategies, and stakeholder management.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and interpersonal skills.
