What can you expect as a Scientist Intern at Waters
Waters instrumentation plays crucial role in providing reliable data to ensure safe foods and clean environment. To support recent regulations and growing concerns on the occurrence of mycotoxins, pesticides and PFAS, we are looking for an internship scientist who have a passion for analytical instrumentation and enjoy answering technically challenging analytical problems from food and environmental market. You will have hands-on experience in using high-end liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry instrumentation to support the market development activities on emerging food and environmental topics.
You will be part of our 2025 Intern Program and this is a great opportunity to learn more about Waters and the variety of roles we offer as well as learning more about the Life Sciences industry. You will be allocated a mentor alongside joining teams passionate about the work we do!
This is a paid internship for a period of 3 months during 2025.
During your internship you will be working in the Food and Environmental business area based at Singapore and completing a project which will involve:
• Literature review on assigned topic
• Planning and conducting laboratory tasks
• Analyse samples on liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.
• Build chemical compounds library for key instrumentation.
• Presenting results both internally and externally to key stakeholders.
• Assist in development of marketing materials or activities.
• Basic maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation.
What are we looking for:
• Final year student of Bachelor degree in science disciplines
• Good fundamental base in Chemistry, Agricultural/ Environmental Chemistry or Food Chemistry.
• Background knowledge in analytical instrumentation and chemical preparation preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Open to interns with the right to live and work in Singapore.
