Overview

Waters Corporation is currently seeking an individual to join our organization as a Senior Product Owner supporting our Cloud Platform/Ecosystem software portfolio. The successful candidate will collaborate as part of a team to deliver foundational platform features which underpin the success of our cloud software products.

 

In this role you will be responsible for translating the user and business needs for key areas of our cloud platform to the applicable development team and to partners within the business unit. You will also be accountable for the definition and prioritisation of the backlog that will deliver the business value items to meet partner expectations in alignment with current business goals.

We are looking for a Product Owner who can collaborate with other product owners, engineering teams, researchers, designers, and partners across the business to tackle complex problems with sophisticated solutions.  We want to find someone who will become an advocate for our users and be steadfast in seeking ways to deliver products that exceed their expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring there has been adequate problem analysis performed such that the user and product requirements are articulated clearly and understood by the team so that the right product is delivered. Collaborating with User Experience teams and improving beta programs / early customer input to support this.
  • Completing key areas of the platform strategy as set out by the Product Manager / Lead Product Owner.
  • Ensuring that engineering themes, user experience, and technical debt are included and prioritised within the product backlog.
  • Breaking down user needs into an effective and prioritized product backlog that the engineering teams can readily analyze.
  • Accountable for the definition and prioritization of the backlog that will iteratively deliver the most business value.
  • Ensure that the backlog items are co-authored with development, evaluation, and architect to ensure that items are clear, feasible and measurable.
  • Collaborating on landmark goals and objectives and guiding work according to the quarterly delivery plan.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Education Required

  • Degree or equivalent experience is preferred, particularly in a science or IT-related area.

Experience Required

  • Confirmed experience working in an agile, matrixed environment.
  • Understanding of domain-orientated architecture and application of APIs.
  • Proven record of product delivery in a Product Owner or Business Analyst role and knowledge of the software development process, especially Agile (preferred).

Proficiency / Skills Required

  • Displays excellent organization skills.
  • Communicates clearly, and consistently to a range of partners.
  • Collaborates well; ability to make product decisions in a team environment.
