Our Enterprise Process Excellence team is on a mission to improve business outcomes and employee experiences by driving step-change improvements in critical enterprise processes, and the technology and analytics supporting these.

 

As a Principal Business Analyst (Data Governance), you will be responsible for the accuracy, security, and compliance of Waters domain data. You are responsible for leading the analysis, design, and optimization of data governance business processes across various data domains within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in data governance process improvement, data analysis, and implementation of process changes. As a subject matter expert, the Principal Business Process Analyst will drive key initiatives aimed centralising metadata management, data cataloging, data lineage and end to end business process givernance to ensure accurate data to enable measurable business value.

 

This position will follow a hybrid model work approach( 3 days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday working from GCC office, RMZ ecoworld, Bellandur, Bangalore and 2 days from home)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards in collaboration with IT, legal, compliance, and domain teams.
  • Ensure execution and monitoring of data standards, ensuring compliance with regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Manage and maintain data catalogs, data dictionaries, lineage records, and governance processes within Data Governance tools.
  • Create and present executive-level governance reports, metrics tracking, and process maps for stakeholders.
  • Streamline data governance workflows by conducting workshops on data classification, access, ownership, and end-to-end data management.
  • Provide training and mentorship to teams on governance policies
  • Create Executive level presentation for Data Governance Network meeting to provide governance updates and Data Domain workshops to align on key design decisions.
  • Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to align metadata management and governance processes with organizational objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to enhance business process efficiency and data governance effectiveness.
  • Monitor and resolve governance-related issues while providing ongoing support to sustain improvements.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in business process analysis, process improvement, or related roles.
  • Strong expertise in process modeling, mapping, mining, and analysis techniques
  • Ability to create effective presentations to streamline and communicate complex governance processes and collaboration to work across departments to gain alignment
  • Experience working with metadata management, data catalogs and data lineage.
  • Leadership in policy creation and execution.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex initiatives
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders effectively
  • Experience with business process management and process mining software (e.g., Symbio, Celonis, or similar tools).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience mentoring others
  • Experience working on an Agile / Scrum team a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt or Green Belt) and/or Business Process Management (BPM)
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and their application to process improvement
  • Experience in domains such as sales, marketing, product development, HR, supply chain, and manufacturing a plus
