Overview

This role leads the strategy and execution of commercial operations across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. The Director, Commercial Operations will be responsible for enhancing field force effectiveness, aligning sales and service operations, optimizing territory planning, designing incentive programs, managing CRM systems, driving data analytics, and advancing commercial process innovation.

This individual will work closely with regional Sales, Marketing, and Service leaders to ensure a high-performing, insight-led, customer-focused commercial organization. The role demands strategic vision, strong operational rigor, and the ability to influence across cultures and functions to deliver measurable commercial success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of scalable commercial strategies to accelerate revenue growth and operational excellence across APAC.
  • Oversee field deployment planning, including salesforce sizing, territory optimization, and headcount allocation.
  • Design and manage performance-based incentive compensation (IC) plans that drive accountability and results.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Service leadership to deliver strategic insights that enhance customer engagement and business outcomes.
  • Align with global and regional stakeholders to define and standardize commercial processes and technologies, while customizing for local market dynamics.
  • Develop and implement KPIs and performance dashboards across commercial functions to measure impact and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Strengthen funnel visibility and forecast accuracy through robust CRM governance; drive continuous improvement of Salesforce.com platform in partnership with IT and Commercial Tools teams.
  • Deliver clear, data-driven reporting and business intelligence to support timely and informed decision-making.
  • Lead regional commercial excellence initiatives and support cross-functional strategic programs.
  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement to assess capability gaps and deploy training that upskills commercial teams.
  • Proactively monitor risks and opportunities within the sales pipeline and drive course corrections as needed.
  • Champion digital and commercial innovation through new tools, data-driven approaches, and automation.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial operations, sales strategy, or field enablement roles within life sciences, medical devices, diagnostics, or similarly regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-country commercial initiatives and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven expertise in Salesforce.com CRM management and sales analytics; SAP experience is an advantage.
  • Strong track record of delivering commercial planning, IC design, and operational transformation.
  • Solid understanding of APAC healthcare and life sciences market dynamics, especially Japan, Korea, Soth East Asia and Australia.
