Overview

The India Communications Lead is a senior role responsible for shaping and executing integrated communications strategies across India, reflecting the country’s size, complexity, and strategic importance. This leader will drive reputation, affinity, and awareness for Waters in India, acting as the primary communications advisor to the India General Manager. The role bridges global corporate initiatives with India’s market needs, ensuring Waters’ brand, business priorities, and transformation narrative are effectively localized and amplified.

 

This role will be based in our Global Capability Center in Bangalore, India.

Responsibilities

  • Integrated Communications Strategy: Develop and deliver internal and external communications tailored to Indian audiences, including the localization of global campaigns, earned media, and owned content. Ensure consistency and alignment with Waters’ corporate messaging while adapting to local nuances.
  • Reputation & Affinity Building: Lead initiatives to enhance Waters’ reputation in India, including building strong relationships with key stakeholders, media, industry partners, and opinion leaders. Launch local awards programs and campaigns that highlight the people and innovation within India
  • Media Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with Indian media outlets, crafting tailored messages that resonate with local audiences and enhance Waters’ visibility and influence.
  • Content Creation & Storytelling: Translate complex scientific and business topics into compelling, accessible stories that resonate with diverse Indian stakeholders. Produce high-quality content for press releases, social media, and internal channels.
  • Strategic Advisory: Serve as a strategic advisor to the India General Manager and leadership team, aligning communications strategies with both local business goals and global corporate initiatives. 
  • Crisis Management: Lead communications during crises, ensuring timely and effective responses to protect Waters’ reputation in India.
  • Measurement & Reporting: Measure and report on communications effectiveness through KPIs such as message pull-through, pulse survey data, and special initiative outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of experience leading internal and external communications, preferably in the life sciences industry.
  • Proven experience in communications, public relations, and reputation management in India.
  • Deep understanding of the Indian cultural, social, and media landscapes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and relevant Indian languages.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with local and global teams.
  • Experience in crisis management and reputation enhancement.
