Overview

Role Overview

We are seeking a Platform Engineer to lead the design and build of a next-generation Document Management Strategy (DMS) using the Celonis platform (Business Process Management, Action Flows, Orchestration Engine, and automation capabilities).

This role will focus on transforming fragmented document ecosystems (e.g., SAP, PolicyTech, SuccessFactors) into a process-driven, automated, and integrated governance solution, enabling end-to-end document lifecycle management, compliance, and traceability.

This is a hands-on engineering role requiring direct configuration, development, and deployment of automation and integration solutions.

The primary focus is on platform engineering, automation, and orchestration rather than building large-scale data pipelines. This role will play a critical part in establishing Celonis as the enterprise platform for document lifecycle governance and automation.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Platform Development and Architecture

  • Design and implement DMS capabilities within Celonis CPM (Process Designer, Navigator, Documentation Facets)
  • Build scalable process-centric documentation models, metadata structures, and taxonomy frameworks.
  • Integrate Celonis with enterprise systems (SAP, PolicyTech, SuccessFactors, PLM, etc.)
  • Ingest, harmonize, and manage document and master data across platforms

Automation & Orchestration

  • Develop Action Flows to automate notifications, training triggers, and document lifecycle events
  • Configure Orchestration Engine workflows for approvals, routing, escalation, and compliance tracking
  • Enable end-to-end lifecycle automation (authoring → review → approval → publish → training → audit)

Governance and Compliance driven DMS implementation

  • Embed document management within process models (CPM) to ensure alignment between process design and execution
  • Enable traceability across processes, documents, controls, and KPIs
  • Implement role-based access, document versioning, audit trails, and review cycles
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory and quality requirements (e.g., auditability, training compliance)

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with enterprise teams to define requirements and translate into scalable platform solutions
  • Support workshops to define current state, future state, and implementation roadmap
  • Help troubleshoot DMS specific platform issues and communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders about availability, limitations, and issues.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, plus 7+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of APIs, Python and SQL for workflow automation, integration, and data handling use cases (not heavy data engineering).
  • Proven ability to design and deploy end-to-end automation solutions, including data-driven, rule-based, and AI-enabled automations.
  • Experience designing and implementing workflow/orchestration solutions and with integrating data and automation solutions with enterprise systems
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Strong learning mindset, curiosity, and drive.

Nice-to-Have / Plus Qualifications

  • Experience with Celonis (CPM, Action Flows, Orchestration Engine)
  • Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as SAP, PolicyTech, SuccessFactors, or Track wise
  • Familiarity with Document management or Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., Life Sciences, FDA/ISO environments
