Overview

We are seeking a self-motivated, ambitious, and customer-focused professional to join our team as a Market Application Specialist for Wyatt Technology's advanced light scattering instrumentation. Covering Southern Germany, Austria, and selected countries in Eastern Europe, you will serve as the scientific and technical expert within your territory, supporting customers throughout their evaluation and adoption of our solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about science and technology and enjoys building strong, long-lasting relationships with customers. As the primary application specialist in the region, you will engage with scientists, researchers, and industry professionals on a daily basis through customer visits, seminars, training sessions, email communication, and virtual meetings. By understanding our customers' analytical challenges and research objectives, you will provide expert application guidance and demonstrate how Wyatt's technologies can deliver meaningful scientific insights and business value.

Responsibilities

As a Market Application Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our commercial organization by providing scientific expertise throughout the pre-sales process. You will conduct seminars, user meetings, customer visits, training sessions, sample analyses, and instrument demonstrations to engage and educate prospective customers. Working closely with our Account Managers, you will act as a trusted scientific advisor, helping customers understand how Wyatt Instruments can address their analytical challenges and deliver value to their research and development activities. Through consultative discussions and technical presentations, you will assess application requirements, communicate the benefits of our solutions, and support customers in identifying the most suitable technologies for their specific needs. Your ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear customer benefits will be essential in driving successful outcomes and building long-term customer relationships.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate combines strong scientific expertise with outstanding communication and customer engagement skills. You are highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline. Hands-on experience with HPLC is required, while experience with light scattering technologies and related instrumentation is considered a strong advantage. A solid understanding of protein or polymer characterization and analysis is highly desirable.

You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and are confident presenting scientific concepts to diverse audiences. Familiarity with laboratory techniques, analytical instrumentation, and scientific software is essential. Additionally, you demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and enjoy building relationships with customers, colleagues, and business partners.

Candidates with experience in biopharmaceutical, polymer, or analytical characterization applications, particularly involving SEC-MALS, DLS, or related technologies, will be especially well suited for this position. Experience supporting customers in a scientific, technical, or pre-sales environment is also highly valued.

As this role involves frequent travel within the assigned territory, a valid driver's license is required.
