We are now seeking to fill a temporary position (1 year) that we hope to transition into a full time position for a


Field Service Engineer, Based in Ireland


  • As a Field Service Engineer you will have a very varied working environment and be the face of Waters as you go out to customers every day
  • You will play a key role in making Waters customers successful, and you will build a lot of trust with our customer
  • You will work independently in the field but also be part of a very engaged team, with a strong focus on supporting fellow team members



  • Deliver high quality service and support to customers
  • Perform installations, Performance Maintenance, Repairs, Upgrades, Qualifications and training for customers
  • Effective fault finding in areas of chemistry, mechanics and electronics
  • Optimise customer relations
  • Effectively manage own calls, administration and inventory
  • Follow Waters routines with an emphasis on quality
  • High focus on customer success and customer experience
  • Work effectively with cross functional teams and cross border
  • Additional tasks when and where business demands





Successful candidate is likely to have the following competencies:


  • Qualified to degree level in an engineering discipline, or equivalent level of experience
  • Life Science and/or chemical experience is favorable
  • A good communicator with a high level of customer focus
  • A keen interest  and methodical approach to fault finding and problem solving
  • Drive and engagement to develop




  • Carry out routine maintenance, emergency repairs, installations, training and general technical support for users of Waters LC/MS Systems.
  • Travel nation-wide, spending several consecutive nights away from home as needed
  • Act in a pro-active manner to assist Sales to identify and develop business potential for LC/MS.
  • Continue to develop product/software knowledge as the role demands.




  • This person must hold a current passport and be prepared to travel abroad at short notice not only during working hours but also occasionally at weekends.
  • This person must hold a valid drivering license.
