This role is based at Waters Wilmslow Site - a custom built Centre of Excellence, including state of the art customer demonstration laboratories. It is the largest site globally committed to the support and development of Mass Spectrometry systems.

You will be working in the Instrument Control Software team to test and evaluate a suite of software products.  It’s an opportunity to work with a wide variety of software technologies and analytical instrumentation.

Responsibilities

The team is constantly exploring better ways to deliver software.

  • Design, develop, execute and maintain test cases covering all aspects of the software.
  • Work in close partnership with software developers to improve product quality.
  • Provide supporting documentation in accordance with the software development processes and codes of practice.
  • Communicate with internal and external users to provide software and technical support.
  • Be creative in identifying opportunities for improved productivity, efficiency and quality.
  • Develop strong working relationships with other departments.

Qualifications

Job level and salary is dependent on experience.

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a science, engineering or computing related subject.
  • Previous technical and software testing experience.
  • Are passionate about software testing which you can clearly convey by your actions and experiences.
  • Have the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Are able to work under your own guidance.
  • And have excellent communication and decision-making skills.
  • Experience testing software for analytical instrumentation would be desirable.
