We are seeking to fill the position of an Chemistry Consumables Account Manager in Denmark


As a Waters Chemistry Consumables Account Manager you will join a highly motivated team of technically experienced analytical scientists focused on creating business advantage for their laboratory customers through insightful discussions, technical customer presentations and laboratory demos. In this diverse and rewarding role you will drive the consumables business in your sales territory to achieve annual sales targets by building strong relationships in key accounts as well as developing new business. 

As an ambassador of Waters the role expectations are that the candidate will present in a professional and well educated way the portfolio of products and services Waters brings to the market. The role requires a capable level of understanding of Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, Chemistry and the benefits Waters products will bring in the Customer environment.  The candidate will demonstrates a strong understanding of the customers business and its growth plans.  You will be able to take that knowledge and convert that into a solution and offering from Waters, with a primary aim of bringing “customer success”.  The role is based in a territory and requires on average a minimum of 3 days per week in front of customers with time for preparation, planning and research. The role will be designated to either a territory and/or markets. 


Main responsibilities will include:

  • Proactive sales of the entire chemistry consumables product range and associated applications.
  • Formulate and successfully implement business plans.
  • Deliver consistent year-on-year business growth, by meeting annual targets.
  • Manage the entire sales process and establishing partnerships with our customers, including planning, and leading the customer demonstrations with collaboration of the demo lab specialists, as well as collaborating closely with support groups (e.g. service organisation, demo lab) to ensure the customer is successful.
  • Actively seek suitable opportunities for development of new business.
  • Maintain client retention levels by strategic relationship building.
  • Maintain the customer database, ensuring all relevant information is recorded.
  • Provide customers with high quality technical advice whilst maintaining focus on maximizing sales potential.
  • Manage the product mix and pricing to meet agreed targets.
  • Deliver technical seminars and workshops to customers.
  • Active promotion of Waters total solutions concept.
  • Plan and prioritise personal time and sales activities.
  • Prepare reports, tender documents and relevant product solution documents for customers.
  • Adhere to Waters and customers relevant HSE requirements when on site and as a worker.
  • Additional Sales related projects and activities as designated by management.




The successful candidate is likely to have the following competencies:

  • BSc or equivalent in Chemistry or Life Science (the latter with some knowledge of Analytical Chemistry).
  • Technical sales experience, ideally in the chromatography or mass spectrometry field.
  • Experience of working within an analytical chemistry laboratory.
  • Knowledge of Biopharmaceutical analysis by LC or LC/MS.
  • Self driven and highly motivated.
  • Quick learner that has the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of Waters chromatography or mass spectrometry data system (Empower) would be desirable.
  • Ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex technical issues.
  • Highly motivated as an individual with perseverance and drive and the ability to work effectively in pressurised sales situations.
  • Customer focussed with good listening skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with a positive sense of humour and must be a good team player (prepared to work as a member of an integrated sales/service organisation).
  • Good priority setting and organisational skills.


  • This person must hold a current passport and be prepared to travel abroad not only during working hours but also occasionally at weekends.
  • Ensure that you keep a full clean driving license.
