To handle material issues/receipts and ensure they are processed effectively.

To handle material issues/ receipts of returned and MFR’d materials, ensuring they are processed effectively.

To deputise for the Materials Handling Supervisor as directed.

Works closely with Engineers, Internal Production, Planning, Purchasing, Repairs and Admin Co-ordinator, Materials Life Cycle Co-ordinator and Quality.


  • Timely receipt and processing of all materials receiving at goods receiving or from internal sources using SAP and Catamaran scanning.
  • Safe and coordinated storage of all materials using FIFO principles to ensure integrity of materials at all times.
  • Timely processing of all Goods Issues to internal and external customers ensuring FIFO principles and transactions are completed at all times using SAP.
  • Maintaining accurate picking/put away of materials to aid Cycle Counting and assist with stock audits where applicable.
  • Carrying out the activities as defined in the Company’s Quality System.
  • Timely processing of all internally MFR’d materials from shop floor to DM1 area.
  • Timely receipt and processing of all externally returned materials from worldwide subsidiaries using the Returns Database, SAP, MFD and Trackwise.
  • Raising of packing notes for all materials deemed suitable for repair using SAP, MFD and Trackwise.
  • Raising of stock disposal forms for all materials deemed unfit for continuing use.
  • Safe and co-ordinated disposal of scrap materials in accordance with the company’s disposal process.
  • Maintaining the accuracy of the stock within the warehouses used by ensuring stock audits are carried out at the correct intervals to the required level.
  • Carrying out the activities as defined in the Company’s Quality System.
  • Participating in the ongoing improvement of the systems used within the department.
  • To understand and employ reasonable management skills in order to maximise the efficiency of the team.

As directed by the Materials Handling Supervisor or Management; assume responsibility for the day to day management of the Materials Control department and its members.


    • Grade C or above in GCSE or equivalent in English and Math’s.
    • Previous experience in a warehouse environment.
    • Must be certified to drive a Fork Truck.
    • Experience of a computerised stores system.
    • Clean UK Driving Licence.
    • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate a team whilst working under pressure.
