As a Professional Services Expert, working for an industry leader, you will join a team of engineers committed to ensuring Waters legendary service for our customers who utilize our scientific instrumentation and software. 

In this role, you will provide technical expertise on Waters' innovative informatics products suite (Empower, NuGenesis, Unifi) for customers spanning across the Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences, Chemical Materials, Food, Clinical, Environmental, Forensics, Academia and Government industries.



The Professional Services Expert will be responsible for planning and performing installation, qualification, maintenance and support of Waters’ Empower and Unifi Data Systems as well as of NuGenesis Power of Two solutions in the Eastern European Region (Austria, Eastern Europe and the Middle East). In this role, he/she will work closely with the local sales and service teams in the region with a particular focus on the support of our service staff and customers in the Business Partner countries. 



  • Install, qualify, and support Waters informatics networked products (Empower, NuGenesis Power of Two, Unifi)
  • Deliver Architecture and Infrastructure consultancy workshops
  • Deliver end user training at Waters premises and on customer sites
  • Deliver post-installation professional services (training, validation, disaster recovery etc.)
  • Manage customer expectations, by communicating work performed and providing follow up plans if needed
  • Work with service and sales teams in the region to ensure the efficient completion of Informatics projects.
  • Assist in sales situations to leverage Professional Services
  • Issue field service reports on a daily basis to document work performed
  • Ensure compliance requirements are followed
  • Ensure that quality system procedures and Health & Safety standards are adhered to at all times


Competencies/behaviours and attitude:

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Chemistry or other science related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with installation, qualification, training, troubleshooting, support and utilization of Waters Informatics Products (Empower, NuGenesis, Unifi)
  • Expertise with large networking environments, including Windows and Linux RedHat server platforms, Citrix terminal servers,  Oracle database servers as well as VMware virtualization.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Empower application, including custom fields and report methods creation
  • Understanding of the laboratory workflow and its integration with scientific software systems (CDS, SDMS, LMS, ELN)
  • Knowledge of the analytical instrumentation environment
  • Good understanding of GMP/GLP requirements
  • Must possess a strong customer focus
  • Personal sense of integrity and trust
  • Effective time management skills
  • Analytical mindset with a strong drive to resolve open issues
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English and other languages from the Eastern European Region
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to different cultures and business styles
  • Extensive overnight travel is required (70%), includes local and international travel
