Overview

Responsible for planning, development and execution of the Marketing Services strategies, communications and activities at European Headquarters. Directs the efforts of the Marketing Services team, and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the organization.  This role is based at European Headquarters in the Paris region.

 

This role reports directly to the Senior Marketing Director Europe and India, and serves as a member of the European Marketing management team. There is a dotted reporting-line to Corporate Headquarters Marketing organization.

 

Primary working relationships include the senior management teams across the European business, as well as global marketing teams. Direct line managment for a team of specialists, with strong focus on digital expertise. Dotted line management relationship to regional/local marketing teams across Europe and India.

Responsibilities

Marketing communications (digital and physical), Lead Generation as well as coordination with corporate and local teams and development of local and EHQ staff to respond to fast changing marketing landscape.

  1. Responsible for creating, execution and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing program that will enhance the organization’s image and position within the marketplace and the general public, and facilitate internal and external communications.
  2. Partner with the European Market and Product Development Managers by providing advice on marketing strategy and tactics. Collaborate with internal marketing teams, to ensure alignment of customer communications.
  3. Take active part in future marketing developments such as Web, Social Media, CRM, Mobile and analytics. 

 Planning and budgeting

  1. Responsible for the achievement of marketing missions, goals and financial objectives, including promotion budgets to ensure maximum business impact.
  2. Ensure efficient processes required for smooth operation of the marketing functions.
  3. Keep informed of developments in the fields of marketing, global branding and digital and use this information to help the organization operate with initiatives, innovation and sustainability. 

Leadership/People Management

  3. Provide dotted-line leadership and support to regional teams.

 

Qualifications

Desired Competencies

  • Experienced Leadership position
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing activities.
  • Experience in budget and cost management
  • People management (including remote and matrix): selecting and developing talent
  • Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials as well as event management
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, including presenting and influencing.
  • Computer literacy in all common software tools and data base management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelors/Masters Degree
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in marketing (i.e. communications and / or digital) and people management with demonstrated success, preferably in the B2B business.
  • Broad-based knowledge of analytical instruments or medical device industry a plus.
  • In addition to English, fluency in another European language would be a plus.
  • Willingness to travel (mainly Europe, and occasionally to USA, India)
