    As Account Manager – Systems/Instruments, you are an ambassador of Waters and will bring to the market Waters’ products and services. The candidate will demonstrates a clear grasp of understanding the customers’ business and its growth plans and is able to take that knowledge and convert that into a solution and offering from Waters, with a primary aim of bringing “customer success”.  This position brings a great degree of flexibility working in the field. The role will be designated to either a territory and/or markets. 

    Responsibilities

    Day to Day activities would include:

    • Planning and execution of on-site customer visits on weekly base including proper documentation in CRM;
    • Understand customer business needs and translating them into our product solutions;
    • Understanding of customer decisions´process and organisation;
    • Maintain CRM opportunities & activities and customer data on daily basis;
    • Provide instrument system quotes to customers according to application requests;
    • Negotiate projects respecting Waters terms & conditions to ensure sales revenue targets;
    • Prospect new customers across territory;
    • Provide and update Business Plan for territory on year/quarter basis;
    • Effective product positioning for new products to gain future customer interest in our solutions;
    • Schedule and participation in product demos;
    • Participation in organisation and execution of local Marcom events, exhibitions, road shows, eg.
    • Differentiate Waters as a unique Partner in the Instrumentation market place by providing technical expertise and application knowledge
    • Collaborating, liaising and providing guidance and support across departments to ensure customer success. You will be working closely with all other groups at Waters (e.g. Instrument Sales, Chemistry Operation and Informatics etc.);
    • Managing the product mix and pricing to meet desired targets;

    Adhering to Waters and customers relevant Health, Safety and Environment requirements when on site and as an individual employee;

     

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor or Master Degree in Science;

    Experience:

    • A ( higher) degree in a life science-related discipline (degree in Chemistry, Biology or Biochemistry)  and more industrial experience is also acceptable) 
    • Technical knowledge and practical solution selling experience, ideally in Chromatography and/or Mass Spectrometry applications
    • Exposure within relevant field/industry;
    • Effective sales contributor with proven track record for long-term and growing success

    • Highly passionate individual with charisma, perseverance and determination, plus the ability to work effectively in competitive sales situations;
    • Customer focussed with very good listening skills; effective communication and strong presentation skills
    • Decisions making and influencing selling skills
    • Quick learner and ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex technical issues;
    • Good interpersonal skills, cool under pressure, with a positive sense of humour and is able to contributing as part of an integrated sales/service organisation;
    • Good priority setting and organisational skills;
    • Knowledge of computers and the use of standard Windows based packages (knowledge of a Waters chromatography or mass spectrometry data system “EMPOWER” would also be desirable);
    • Proficient English Language Skills;

    Travel:

    • A clean driving license and a valid passport will be required;
    • This territory-based position with travelling within your designated territory, and occasional travels to other countries for activities such as governance of department, local business support, meetings and training.
    • A disclosure of any criminal convictions may be required as some of our customers work in sensitive and confidential government areas.
