We are looking for an Inside Sales Representative to drive and develop the Systems (LC, MS, Informatics) and Service business, through phone and web activity. This position will interface with technicians, scientists, key decision makers and purchasing agents .


Ability in the customer relationship, efficiency in the organization and excellent communication skills are key to succeed in this role.


Main responsibilities include to meet personal annual sales targets by developing new business discovering new accounts and consolidating business/relationships in existing accounts.

This is a permanent office-based position, located in Waters Italy office at Sesto San Giovanni, Milan (Edison Park Center).


  • Develop Systems business in defined territory by phone. Promoting new instruments based solutions and related services offer.
  • Deliver consistent year-on-year business growth, by meeting quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Proactive management of accounts/contacts by phone. 
  • Proactive prospection, qualification and development of new accounts and markets by phone
  • Execute the company strategic initiatives within a defined customer target list (new products launches, updates on applications, upgrades... ).
  • Customer contact via phone in pre-sales and post-sales scenarios, maintaining focus on maximizing sales potential
  • Execute Sales support activities (quotations, pipeline coverage for temporary vacant territories, customers requests, promote service products). Sales activities backup.
  • Work closely with the Marketing organization for delivering messages to promote product offering and perform follow-up for qualification of system leads coming from trade show seminars and webinars.
  • Develop close relationships within the System and Service Sales teams.
  • Report daily activities and maintain customer contact database and associated activities in our CRM system. 
  • Have a good understanding of the Waters Products Portfolio (Systems, Services and Consumables) with active promotion of the Waters total solution approach.
  • Advise your manager of new areas of opportunity for revenue or lead sources .
  • Respond to all leads in a timely and professional manner.


We are looking for a talented graduated with the following skills and competencies:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in science related fields: Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biology/Pharmaceutical Chemistry 
  • Knowledge of Analytical Chemistry , particularly Liquid chromatography and      Mass Spectrometry systems.
  • Instrumental working experience within the analytical chemistry environment
  • Recent experience of selling, analytical laboratory related instrumentation/products    preferred
  • Good initiative self driven, dynamic, patient and highly motivated
  • Quick learner, with the ability to work in a matrix organization
  • Excellent communication, phone and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong Customer Focus and Drive for Results, with an ability to adapt to changing market focussing
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong capability to work in a team environment
  • Languages: Italian & fluent spoken/written English
  • French and Spanish would be a plus
