    Department Overview

    Within the Supply Chain Department, we are responsible for ensuring supply of Waters’ speciality measurement instruments and related consumables products to our customers worldwide. Specifically, our Supply Chain team are responsible for: production planning, supplier management & procurement, new production introduction, warehouse operations & inventory control, and logistics & trade compliance.     Job Overview

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Senior Buyer to collaborate with a diverse team who are accountable for both strategic and tactical purchasing activities.  This role focuses on identifying commercial opportunities and risk mitigation & resilience management.  The position would suit an enthusiastic team worker who is seeking a rewarding career in a dynamic Supply Chain environment.


    As part of a team, you will be supported to

    • Influence Purchasing Strategy by determining and evaluating current and future requirements supporting the growth and changing needs.
    • Impact and improve Vendor relationships. Partner with vendors to identify opportunities for quality and cost. Co-ordination and management of Business Reviews with key vendors.
    • Commercial management of supply chain through negotiation & contractual arrangements. Monitoring spend in line with financial targets
    • Identify and manage Supply Chain risk through assessment, evaluation, control and monitoring.
    • Ensure smooth integration of new vendors and new production introductions.
    • Execute day to day procurement activities to agreed SLA
    • Assess supply constraints, escalate accordingly, and manage stakeholder expectations through to constraint resolution



    • Bachelor of Business Studies or equivalent primary degree, IIPM Certification and/or APICS Certified
    • Minimum of 5 years supply chain experience
    • Experience of design and implementation of best in class standards in Supply Chain processes
    • Proven track record with Vendor management with negotiation & influencing skills.
