    Overview

    In the Waters European Applications Laboratory our aim is to contribute to the orders and Sales growth by developing a keen understanding of our customers. We are currently seeking a Senior Applications Chemist to work in a fast paced environment with an opportunity to utilise your scientific knowledge across a variety of technologies and business functions such as Scientific operations, Marketing and Sales. This role is focussed on enhancing food industry knowledge within the European Applications laboratory. Complete workflows including sample preparation, chromatography, MS detection and informatics will be developed; these workflows will form the basis of marketing and demonstration strategies to drive growth within the Waters European business.

     

    There is an opportunity to travel, with up to 20% of your time spent overseas for pre and post sales support, attending relevant scientific meetings and marketing events.

    Responsibilities

    • To take responsibility for full method development of food applications for defined high impact applications, supporting instrument sales within the food industry in Europe.
    • Executing high quality demonstrations and sample analyses for customers
    • Developing marketing collateral to promote Waters food solutions.
    • To be a food analytics subject matter expert within the Waters European team.
    • To develop and maintain effective communication with relevant marketing groups.
    • To represent the Company at external meetings in order to provide a source of technical expertise, supporting company products and applications.

    Qualifications

     

    •  A MSc or PhD in a Life Science discipline
    • Demonstrable experience in the food industry
    • Significant food industry focussed LC and GC tandem quadrupole experience is desired.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience of working collaboratively with others to achieve a shared goal
    • Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously
