    Overview

    The Waters Mechanical Engineering team based in the UK has responsibility for the Waters Mass Spectrometer Product Range. As part of the team, you will be involved in projects at all stages of the product lifecycle, from initial research and concept generation, new product introduction and continuous improvement of products in manufacture.

     

    Mass Spectrometers are complex devices that require high precision engineering, have closely integrated electromechanical elements and require strong multi-functional collaboration. Our Engineering challenges include design for ultra high vacuum, handling high temperatures and voltages, precision gas and liquid control with aggressive acids and solvents.

     

    During our development activities we utilise state of the art Computer Aided Design and 3D Printing facilities, Multi Physics Simulation, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Structural FEA and 3D Tolerance Analysis. We have a strong focus on innovation and creativity and employ processes to ensure Robust Design via Systems Engineering. We rely on you to help us to provide constant improved Costumer Experience, Usability Engineering and Design for Excellence.

     

    We are interested to hear from, and will consider, engineers from all levels of experience and from all relevant industries to fill this position.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead diverse project teams in the completion of a range of different project types using project management best practices
    • Build relationships and execute projects with Waters development third parties.
    • Provide regular updates on project activities written and oral inside and outside of the department.
    • Facilitate design activities such as Brainstorms, Risk Assessments and Systems Engineering Workshops.
    • Ensure that project documentation is completed on time and to the highest level of quality.
    • To identify and lead the delivery of process improvements which result in improved efficiency, quality and effectiveness of engineering processes.

       

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering subject, or directly related work experience.
    • Strong competencies in planning, project management and leadership of multiple projects, activities and resources.

    • Understanding of skills required to develop complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate independently with excellent organization and time management skills.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills with excellent communication and presentation skills.
