    Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our company. The role offers an exciting opportunity to support the Quality of the site's products with the aim of leveraging ever greater Quality of Waters' Mass Spectrometry products thereby helping to grow our business.  

    Working in partnership with the site Management Team, you will support ongoing development and implementation of the site’s Quality Management System (under ISO9001:2015), enhance the Quality skills and understanding of site personnel and ultimately drive a strong culture of Quality.

    You will be the key Quality subject matter expert on site and the opportunity exists for future performance-based role enhancement. In addition, the role formally reports into the Global Quality organisation and will therefore be part of and supported by a larger, global Quality team.

    Responsibilities

    • Working collaboratively across the Solihull site, advocate and progress consistent, pragmatic and customer satisfying Quality Management System solutions to support success and direction of the business
    • Manage the ISO 9001 compliance audit programme for the site
    • Monitor and identify changes to key regulations and standards affecting site compliance. Communicate and lead implementation of changes
    • Manage the Solihull site Management Review
    • Provide relevant training, education and subject matter expertise to the site
    • Manage site non-conformance and customer complaints systems ensuring suitable corrective actions are taken to improve product quality
    • Support the Solihull Engineering teams e.g. assisting with deviation requests and root cause analysis
    • Collaborate with Wilmslow and Wexford Quality teams to improve product quality of Solihull originating product
    • Manage site Internal Audit program ensuring compliance with requirements of ISO9001
    • Support the Solihull Purchasing Team ensuring suppliers are approved and monitored in line with requirements of ISO9001
    • Support the Global Quality strategy, objectives planning, budget planning and organisational effectiveness
    • Collaborate with other site leaders to identify, agree and support site-level QA department objectives that align with the global-level QA function goals and site Quality objectives
    • Collaborate across the Global Quality organisation to communicate improvements and ensure alignment as required
    • Develop, maintain and communicate meaningful metrics relating to the Solihull site

     

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • A qualification in a Mechanical Engineering related subject OR relevant recent experience in a Mechanical Engineering related function.

    Experience:

      

    • Previous experience in a Quality Assurance role
    • Experience within a precision engineering environment desired

    Competencies:

    • Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and how it is applied
    • Capability in facilitating improvement teams to find solutions
    • Pragmatic approach towards problem resolution
    • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
    • Skilled in the use of KPI's to continuously improve Quality
    • Natural collaborator with good written and oral communication skills
    • Adept at collaborating with all levels in the organisation
    • Capable of working independently
    • Computer literate - working knowledge and experience of Word, Powerpoint and Excel or equivalent packages

     

    Travel (If Applicable):

    • The opportunity of limited travel may be available (to internal customer sites)
