  • Overview

    • PC setup & configuration – OS, hardware and software for all user stations (This includes all upgrades for hardware and software) for both local and remote users.


    • Is able to diagnose and troubleshoot and repair or offer corrective action for the following. (List intended to show requirements for troubleshooting skills not an exhaustive list)
      • Personal or laptop computers
      • Network wiring, switches, routers.
      • Network communications
      • Network interface cards, wireless adapters
      • Software and/or hardware problems for multi-platform environment
      • Printers, scanners, handheld devices
      • Mobile communication devices
    • Provide technical support and assistance to all users including instruction in use of equipment or software.
    • Has a solid working knowledge of various Windows operating systems, MS office Products, e-mail packages.
    • Coordinates activities with other information systems personnel through use of help desk ticket system.
    • Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.
    • Maintains, updates and coordinates all voice and data communications.
      • Assist Systems Administrator with variety of network admin tasks:
        • Create and/or manage user accounts for network and e-mail
        • Create shares and/or adjust permissions
        • Administration of company virus scan package
        • Assist with network and remote access to outside personnel
      • Assist in development of hardware and software inventory and any warranty tracking.
      • Evaluate computer products, peripherals, hardware and software to assist with business selection and path.

    Education: All levels

    Knowledge normally acquired through completion of an Associate's degree (A. A.) in computer technology, computer science or related field from two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Experience: In addition to the educational requirements the applicant is expected to have 1 -3 years directly applicable experience with PC repair and related network environments.
