  • Overview

    We provide our Compliance Engineers with a wide variety of meaningful projects. Our focus to provide support to the design teams to ensure that new products meet safety, EMC, medical and other international regulatory requirements specific to Mass Spectrometry (MS) products.  Developing our products is a team effort and provides wide variety, requiring us to collaborate with all disciplines in a product’s lifecycle.  We work with each other and have a wealth of experience in the team.     As one of our Compliance Engineers you will be involved in development activities in support of new and existing products.  You will be responsible for managing and conducting internal pre-compliance testing and managing third party test houses.  In addition to this you will also:

    • Ensure new Waters MS products comply with current international regulations, and review existing products to ensure continued compliance.
    • Advise design/development engineers on best practice to ensure products pass certification tests promptly.
    • Chair safety reviews, hazard FMEAs and other regulatory reviews to ensure consistency between projects.
    • Provide estimates of compliance engineering effort to assist in the planning and scheduling of project activities including internal and external compliance testing.


    We collaborate with other Waters design teams across the globe and this will give you exciting opportunity for international travel.


    For success as a Compliance Engineer at Waters you will bring:

    • A degree in engineering or science (or equivalent combination of qualification and experience)
    • Proven effective experience in development of high technology products
    • Good understanding of relevant regulatory requirements (e.g. LVD, EMC, IVD, NRTL, FCC, ROHS, WEEE)
    • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
    • Great communication skills and capable of contributing positively to multidisciplinary teams

    Previous experience in this role would be advantageous but not essential.
