  • Overview

     Waters is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of the Market Development Specialist. An exciting opportunity for a marketing professional has arisen in our Mexico Subsidiary. Directly reporting into the Director Marketing Americas and dotted line to the GM Mexico the responsibility of this position is to follow business trends in order to develop appropriate tactics to grow Waters business in the Mexican market.  This will be done in close collaboration with the local Mexican field organization.

    Responsibilities

    • Act as an interface between Worldwide Marketing, Americas Field Marketing and the local organizations to ensure the field organization understands the product and vertical market strategy to enable successful translation of the strategy to tactical execution.
    • Successful person will be responsible for developing the pipeline of new business coming in to Waters Mexico and the Latin American subsidiaries across market segments. This requires knowledge of the markets, solutions/services Waters can provide, and of our competitors.  This will require generating new leads and developing future opportunities through a detailed business plan based upon prioritized opportunities. Progress will be reviewed on a regular base and adjusted as needed
    • Focus on developing new customers and maintaining relationships with existing key customers. Must be able to identify influencers and decision makers within the markets the individual is responsible for.
    • Support the Sales teams by providing sales tools – for seminars, trade shows, scientific conferences, user meetings and webinars, working with field managers, account managers, and product specialists.
    • Utilize the Customer Relationship Management tool to track effectiveness of activities in developing leads.

    Qualifications

    • The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science as a minimum requirement; MS or PhD will be a plus.
    • Strong technical background in analytical techniques, such as Mass Spectrometry and Liquid Chromatography.
    • Action oriented with a proven track record of results.
    • Self motivated and strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence others without formal authority, good listener.
    • Organization/planning /time management skills.
    • Communication and presentation skills.
    • Knowledge of the Pharma, Food and Materials market knowledge a plus
    • Sales and /or application specialist and/or marketing experience in a scientific based business would be considered a plus.
    • Native language Spanish, Fluency in written and verbal English required.
    • Position requires 50% travel
