  • Overview

    The MS Marcomm Team is seeking temporary full-time maternity cover for the Marketing Assistant role to support the delivery of marketing initiatives that drive the business and awareness of Waters Mass Spectrometry division on a local and global level.  This role reports into the dynamic marketing communications team based at the modern facility in Wilmslow, Cheshire.


    The role is for twelve months and the hours are 36.45 hours per week - with a 30 minute lunch each day.



    • Develop and manage the ACQUITY QDa product marketing strategy, developing plans, working with the Product Marketing Manager to develop content, and implementing channel strategies to ensure appropriate communication of messaging. Including setting up analytics, reviewing and implementing changes for future planning
    • Provide support to the Marketing Manager and Marketing Specialist on the development and implementation of priority marketing campaigns when additional resource is needed.
    • Updates to various internal communication tools e.g. Intranet, Communities
    • Purchase requests and invoice management
    • Manchester related sponsor relationships: Marketing Cheshire, Cheshire Zoo bat enclosure, Wilmslow.co.uk, Wilmslow half marathon
    • Science related sponsor relationships: MOSI, BioNow, , University of Manchester, etc
    • Manage Waters participation in Manchester Science Festival, ongoing management of the busking kit and act as the point of contact for any incoming busking requests (disseminating the relevant information to the buskers through the busking community).
    • Liaison with local printers for adhoc jobs e.g. posters, banner stands etc
    • Management of the MS brochure print inventory, monitoring stock levels and ensuring reprints are ordered to budget and in a timely fashion.
    • Mass Spectrometry web page housekeeping managing ad hoc mass spec web page requirements Peer review journal listings - keeping the peer review journal lists up to date on waters.com


    • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a marketing/business discipline desired but not necessary
    • Some professional marketing communications experience
    • Self-motivated, able to use own initiative to develop the role and take the lead on projects
    • Desire to expand knowledge of the business and customer base
    • Good communication skills, both written and verbal with a strong attention to detail
    • Good negotiating and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent analytical, organisational and project management skills
    • Confident with the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple deadlines at once across cross functional teams
    • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat and PowerPoint software programmes
    • Must be a team player
    • May need to travel locally approximately 10% of the time (with own transportation)
